Select 14 and 15 Tryouts for birth years 2001 and 2000
Wisconsin players whose parents are residents register and tryout in open pre-goalie tryout followed by an open skater tryout

Select 14 and 15 State Festivals for birth years 2001 and 2000
Wisconsin players whose parents are residents will be selected from an open skater tryout to the WAHA Select 14 and 15 Birth Year State Festivals
 
Select 16 and 17 State Festivals for birth years 1999 and 1998
Wisconsin players whose parents are residents will not tryout but will be nominated to the state festivals by the eight high school section committees and by Tier 1 programs where players appear on a USA Hockey Tier 1 Rosters.

USA Hockey National Summer Camps
USA Hockey Central District Tryouts in turn selects players to the USA Hockey Select 15, 16 and 17 National Camps.

WHAT ARE THE WAHA SELECT TRYOUTS OR FESTIVALS FOR?
In March, Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association will conduct open tryouts to select players to compete in the WAHA Festivals. See the tryout locations and dates listed below. The Festivals provide a great opportunity for a player to compete and be identified for USA Hockey Central District Player Development Tryouts which can ultimately lead to USA Hockey National Summer Camps.
There are four separate WAHA Festivals by birth year:

2001 = WAHA Festival - USA Hockey Central District Select 14 Camp 
2000 = WAHA Festival - USA Hockey District & Nat’l Select 15
1999 = WAHA Festival - USA Hockey District & Nat’l Select 16
1998 = WAHA Festival - USA Hockey District & Nat’l Select 17

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OPEN TRYOUTS AND OR THE STATE FESTIVALS?
USA born player from birth years from 2001-1998 whose parents or legal guardians are legal residents of Wisconsin  
 
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SELECT 14 or 15 SKATER TRYOUTS?  HOW DO I REGISTER AND WHEN?
  • Participants must have a 2014-15 USA Hockey membership number or register for one at the USA Hockey website. Go to www.usahockey.com to register for a member number.
  • Registration online for tryouts at www.wahahockey.com beginning February 10, 2015.
  • Skaters can only register for ONE tryout session
  • Tryout fee is $70 – which includes ice time and a jersey
  • Use debit card, credit card or a gift card only. No cash or checks will be accepted

Players may only tryout in one tryout session. NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS, NO CASH OR CHECKS ACCEPTED.
  • Registration for each tryout location will be limited by position (D/F), therefore the number of players allowed in a tryout are not unlimited – No exceptions
  • Skaters must tryout for the position (defense or forward) they actually register for - No exceptions
  • Players will be drafted from the skater tryouts to Select 14 and Select 15 Festivals
  • Those selected to a festivals will be contacted by email to accept the opportunity, the player must register for the respective festival using a special link immediately upon notification. NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS, NO CASH OR CHECKS.
OPEN PRE-GOALTENDER TRYOUTS AND HOW DO I REGISTER?
There are four (4) goalie–only tryouts located north, central and south in the state. All tryouts will be for goalies born in 2001 and 2000. Goalies selected from these tryouts sites listed below will be assigned to teams at the skater tryout to be held on March 21 and 22 at Stevens Point.

Open PRE-GOALIE tryouts for Selects 14 and 15 players will be held:
Sunday   March 1, 4-6 pm Eau Claire & Sun Prairie
Tuesday  March 10, 7-9 pm at Stevens Point ( Ice Hawk Arena )
Tuesday  March 10, 8-10 pm at Naga-Waukee                                     
  • Register for one tryout only
  • Tryout fee is $25 for ice time and jersey-No refunds
  • Use debit card, credit card or a gift card (No checks or cash)
  • Participants registering must have a 2014-15 USA Hockey membership number or must register for one through USA Hockey (Go to www.usahockey.com)
  • No tryout location changes after registration
  • Goalies have a two-step tryout process to reach a birth year festival: 1.Pre-Goalie Tryout selected to a Skater Tryout 2.Selected from Skater Tryout to Select 14 or 15 Festival   
  • Goalies who are selected to participate in the Select 14-15 tryouts will be notified by email to register online using a special link. The cost is $45 online to accept and confirm their skater tryout spot. Confirmed goalies must also bring their original pre goalie tryout jersey to the skater tryout. No refunds.
STEP 2 – IF YOU ARE SELECTED TO A WAHA SELECT FESTIVAL?
All goalies, defensemen, and forwards selected from the skater tryouts to participate in the Select Festivals will be contacted by email. The email will contain on-line registration instructions using a special link. Player registration and payment confirms and accepts the invitation to play in a state festival. The cost to participate in the WAHA Festivals is $125. Festival players will keep their jersey and socks. NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS AND NO CASH OR CHECKS ACCEPTED.
 
Select 14 & 15 WAHA Festivals
There are two separate festivals: one for skaters born in 2001 and one for skaters born in 2000. Each birth year festival will include 4 teams of 17 players (2 goalies, 6 defenseman, and 9 forwards). All birth year festival teams will be drafted from the total players that participated in the tryouts in Stevens Point. The Select 14 & 15 Festivals will be April 11-12 at the Cornerstone Community Center in Green Bay.

Players born in 2001 will compete in the WAHA Select 14 Festival to be selected to the USA Hockey Central District Select 14 Elite Camp held June 21-26 in Ames, IA. No further steps.
 
Players born in 2000 compete in the WAHA Select 15 Festival to be selected to the USA Hockey Central District Select 15 Tryout May 8-10 at Fond du Lac. From there selected players will attend the USA Hockey National Select 15 Player Development Camp.
 
Select 16 and or 17 WAHA Festival(s)
Goaltenders and Skaters born in 1999 and 1998 will be nominated by their respective eight high school section committees or their Tier 1 Hockey program to compete a state festival. Depending on player numbers there will be either one festival which combines the birth-years or separate Select 16 & 17 Festivals to be held April 11-12 at the Cornerstone Community Center in Green Bay.

Festival players from both birth years above will be selected to compete in the USA Hockey Central District Player Development Tryouts.

All WAHA Select Festival teams will have a three game round robin format. Selected player for all festivals will be posted on WAHA website with group reporting times at www.wahahockey.com after the selected players receive an email with complete online registration. Online registration (with a deadline) will confirm the player’s spot in the WAHA festival. NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS AND NO CASH OR CHECKS ACCEPTED.

USA HOCKEY CENTRAL DISTRICT PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SELECT 15, 16 & 17 TRYOUTS AT FOND DU LAC, WI.
Players will be selected from the WAHA 2000, 1999 and 1998 birth year festival(s) to go on to the USA Hockey Central District Player Development Tryouts to be held at Fond du Lac, WI on May 8-10. Players selected will be posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org.  
 
USA HOCKEY CENTRAL DISTRICT SELECT 14 ELITE CAMP
(2001 Birth Year)
Wisconsin 2001 birth year or the select 14 players will be selected directly from the WAHA Select 14 Festival in Green Bay April 11-12 to compete in the USA Hockey Central District Select 14 Elite Camp at Ames, IA on June 21-26. Wisconsin players will join players from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska to compete at the Central District level and will be evaluated by USA Hockey evaluators and their individual player evaluations will be kept on file at USA Hockey headquarters in Colorado Springs.
 
USA HOCKEY NATIONAL SELECT 15, 16 and 17 CAMPS (Birth Years 2000, 1999, and 1998 respectively)
The names of the players chosen to compete in the USA Hockey National Select 15, 16,17 Player Development Camps will be posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org following the USA Hockey Central District Player Development Festival in Fond du Lac on May 8-10. All USA Hockey National Player Development Camps will be held at North Town Center at Amherst (Williamsville, NY): Select 15 (July 15-21), Select 16 (July 7-13), Select 17 (June 26-July 2).
 
ADDITIONAL FOR THE 1998 BORN PLAYERS:
 
ALL SELECT 17 OR 1998 BORN PLAYERS COMPETING IN THE WAHA’S SELECT 17 FESTIVAL ON APRIL 11-12 IN GREEN BAY
WHO PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL IN 2014-15 SEASON WILL ALSO BE ELIGIBLE TO BE SELECTED TO THE 18U TEAM REPRESENTING WISCONSIN IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST SPRING SCOUTING VENUES IN THE COUNTRY.THE MINNESOTA CCM NATIONAL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT IS APRIL 23-26 AT PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA.

A player must go through the entire tryout process in Wisconsin to be eligible for the USA Hockey Central District Tryouts, Central District Select 14 Camp and National Select 15, 16, and 17 Development Camps.
